Watch: Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Simran’ teaser features her quirky, mischievous avatar and we love it

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is known for taking unconventional roles and delivering power-packed performances. And it looks like she’s going to impress us once again in her upcoming film Simran, where she appears to be at her bubbly and quirky best.

In a teaser of the film released on Sunday, Kangana is shown in everyday situations – looking back towards a man and bursting into giggles, slumping onto a bed face forward, dancing no holds barred at a wedding, trying on colourful wigs at a store and more.

Watch the teaser here:

Simran is directed by Hansal Mehta, whose previous film Aligarh won awards critical acclaim.

There isn’t much information about what Simran is about but with the Queen hitmaker at its helm, the expectations are certainly high. While the glimpse of Kangana’s character certainly seems likeable – the bubbly, chirpy, larger than life girl who runs through a store at top speed while wearing a cowgirl hat and a wig – we do hope that Mehta will add more depth to Simran than that.

There’s no dearth of Manic Pixie Dream Girls (the girl who’s quirky, happy, almost too real for the world and exists for the sole purpose of the male lead’s self-realisation) in Indian films, and we could do without another one!

The film is slated for release on September 15.

Kangana had recently made news for winning a national award for her double role in Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
