Written by : TNM

The News Minute | October 15, 2014 | 01:31 pm IST The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge which began earlier this year has paved way for similar challenges aimed at raising funds for various issues. The new craze on the block seems to be UNICEF's #WakeUpCall selfie. The challenge is quite simple- you take a selfie just after you wake up, totally natural, post it on any social networking site, and challenge three others to take up the challenge or donate $8.The donations will go to the UNICEF Syria Children’s Emergency. The challenge seems to be aimed mostly at celebrities, with many having taken up the challenge. #WAKEUPCALL SYRIA Unless you donate at http://t.co/XbHKmi3YPh I will post more pictures of Blumenthal and me. pic.twitter.com/n8JmWl4mac— Jeremy Clarkson (@JeremyClarkson) October 8, 2014My Sunday morning #WAKEUPCALL Ive just donated to @unicefaustralia for the #ChildrenofSyriahttp://t.co/rlVc4K6AOi pic.twitter.com/ukh4ZNQXeH— sarah hanson-young (@sarahinthesen8) October 11, 2014#WAKEUPCALL Text SYRIA to 70007 (to give £5) or http://t.co/xGAxIU755i (I warn you - look away) pic.twitter.com/DoGvA65s1s— Stephen Fry (@stephenfry) October 6, 2014Loading #WAKEUPCALL Text SYRIA to 70007 (& donate £5).
