The official puja of Vishnu Vishal’s next, titled FIR, took place recently. Manu Anand is wielding the megaphone for this action thriller that has three heroines Manjima Mohan, Reba Monica John and Raiza Wilson in the star cast.

The shooting of this film will begin on September 11 and the schedules have been planned in Chennai, Hyderabad and Coimbatore, we hear. Speaking about his film, Manu Anand has told in an interview published on Times of India, “It is inspired from true events, but is not a depiction of those incidents. I chose Vishnu Vishal because he is a versatile actor; his body of work is unique. He has also found a balance between commercial and concept-oriented films. I met him with two scripts, but he picked up this film for its challenging nature.”

Vishnu Vishal elaborated about this role thus: “I play a middle-class Muslim boy and the film will partly be about the life he wants to live versus the life he is forced to live. He is a well-educated guy, but a series of events changes things for him.”

Vishnu Vishal’s last film release was Silukkuvarupatti Singam, an action comedy film directed by Chella. The hero had produced the film under his own banner. The film starred Regina Cassandra as the female lead. Leon James had composed music for this film with J Laxman cranking the camera and Rubens doing the editing. Silukkuvarupatti Singam was distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.

Vishnu’s Jagajaala Killadi is also in the pipeline waiting for release. The film has Yogi Babu, Nivetha Pethuraj, Motta Rajendran in the star cast playing pivotal roles. Ezhil is the director of this comedy entertainer.

Reports are that Vishnu Vishal has been approached for the Tamil remake of Jersey to reprise the role done by Nani in the original. He is a cricketer in real life and is an apt choice for the role. The actor had also starred in Jeeva, another film on cricket that released in Tamil. Nelson Venkadesan is likely to wield the megaphone for this Jersey remake.
