Written by : TNM

Long delayed Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie starrer Mellisai, an emotional thriller, has now undergone a title change as Puriyatha Puthir.

The film is directed by debutante Ranjit Jeyakodi, an associate of director Ram and it is produced by Deepan Boopathy under Rebel Studios.

JSK film corporation which has acquired the worldwide release rights of the movie has thought this title change is necessary to attract the audience. This film marks the banner's fifth outing with Vijay Sethupathi.

In an interaction with the Indian Express, Producer JSK Sathish said, “Since his films have a good reach in the B and C centres, we thought of a title change. The movie has lots of twists, turns and an unpredictable climax sequence”.

Vijay Sethupathy is reportedly doing the role of a salesman who works in a musical instrument store, and the makers are sure that this role will be a fresh challenge for Vijay Sethupathi who is known for acting only in rural get-ups.

The movie has Dinesh Krishnan’s cinematography and Sam CS’s music.
