Following the back-to-back success of Kavan and Vikram Vedha, it can be said that Vijay Sethupathi is undoubtedly in the best phase of his career. As the star gears up for the release of his film Puriyaatha Puthir on Friday, his next big release will be Karuppan, in which he will be seen in a full-blown rural avatar. Among the many projects in his kitty, he will be seen playing a don in upcoming action-comedy Junga, which will reunite him with director Gokul, who had worked with him in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara

It has been learnt from reliable sources that the project, to go on the floors from October, will be produced by Vijay Sethupathi on a whopping budget of Rs 20 crore. Apparently, Vijay was quite impressed with the script and instead of taking remuneration, he agreed to produce the film on profit-sharing basis, much to the surprise of the director. Although an official announcement is yet to be made, it looks like Vijay is quite certain about his plan. Vanamagan girl Sayyeshaa has been finalised as the leading lady. Predominant portions of the film will be shot in Paris.

According to the director, the film will showcase Vijay in a different dimension. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised. Most of the technical crew from Gokul’s last film is likely to be retained, according to a reliable source.

Meanwhile, it is also being speculated that Vijay Sethupathi might join hands with filmmaker Mani Ratnam in a multi-starrer project. It would be interesting to see if this collaboration materialises as the duo will be joining hands for the first time.
