Vijay’s 'Mersal' teaser promises a complete entertainer

The official teaser of the Vijay starrer Mersal has been released amidst a lot of expectations and it is trending worldwide as expected.

Director Atlee seems to know the pulse of the star’s fans well as the teaser has all the elements that they wanted. Vijay smashing the goons up promises some adrenaline-pumping fight sequences and a couple of dance moves make it a pucca entertainer. The 75-second teaser is definitely well packed with all the elements that Vijay’s fans expected.

Directed by Atlee, Mersal has Vijay playing triple roles. According to reports, he will be seen as the village Panchayat head, a doctor, and magician. Director SJ Suryah is also in the star cast and we hear from sources that he plays a deadly villain in the film.

Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen are the three leading ladies with Misha Ghosal roped in for a pivotal role. The rest of the star cast includes Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala and Motta Rajendran. Bankrolled by N. Ramasamy, Hema Rukmani, R. Mahendran and H. Murali under the banner Thenandal Studio Ltd, Mersal has been made on a humongous budget of about Rs. 130 crores.

Slated to release for Deepavali next month, the film’s pre-release business is top notch with the distribution rights having been lapped up by leading houses such as Thenandal Studio Limited (Tamil Nadu), North Star Entertainment (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), S. Narayan (Karnataka), Global United Media (Kerala), MKS Talkies (Australia & New Zealand) and ATMUS Entertainment (USA).

AR Rahman is the music director of Mersal and the cinematography has been handled by GK Vishnu with Ruben roped in for editing. 

On Friday, the Madras HC issued an interim stay on the film's producers using the title Mersal till October 3.
