Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay plays a triple role in his next outing with director Atlee. Having been sporting a thick bearded look so far for the shoot, a leaked image of Vijay in a clean-shaven avatar went viral on Sunday, sending his fans into a tizzy. It’s believed to be his second look in the film.

The makers are currently shooting in Rajasthan, in and around Jaisalmer. Along with the image, a small video of Vijay waving to his fans from the second floor of a building has also gone viral.

In the ongoing schedule, the makers shot some scenes with a steam engine which was specially hired for the shoot. This scene was shot in Jaisalmer last week and it witnessed the public turning up in thousands, much to the surprise of the entire crew. “This only proves Vijay sir’s nationwide popularity. He has fans across the length and breadth of the country, more so, in the remotest places of India,” a source said.

Also starring Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the film reunites Vijay and Atlee after last year’s blockbuster Theri. SJ Suryah is playing the antagonist while Vadivelu is expected to be seen in a key role and provide comic relief. AR Rahman is composing the music.
