Vijay Kumar's 'Uriyadi 2' first look motion poster revealed

The much-awaited first look of Uriyadi 2, the sequel to the 2016 blockbuster hit Uriyadi was released on the occasion of Pongal. Vijay Kumar, who directed as well played the lead in the first part, will return to return his roles in the sequel as well.

The motion poster of the film was released by the Suriya. Going by the first look motion poster it is clear that the sequel will carry a strong social message, just like the first part.

Political-thriller Uriyadi, which released in 2016 and revolves around four happy-go-lucky college students getting embroiled in politics. The film spoke against the evils of casteism in Tamil Nadu and was one of most talked about films of that year despite not being able to make moolah at the box-office. 

The film starred many debutant actors and was appreciated by critics for its intent and boldness.

The project went on floors in Tenkasi in September and was wrapped up in 36 days. The entire film will be shot in and around Kutralam and Tenkasi. Fresh off of the success of Kadai Kutty Singam, the film is being bankrolled by actor Suriya's 2D Entertainment.

Vijay Kumar's Souvenir Productions, launched in 2013, will partner with Suriya’s 2D Entertainment for the project.

Kerala based Vismaya will be making her Tamil debut with this film along with Sudhakar of Madras Central fame. Music for the prequel was by Masala Coffee while the sequel has music composed by Govind Vasantha of 96 fame and Sony Music South had acquired the audio rights.

Debutants Praveen Kumar and Linu will lead the camera and editing departments respectively. Stunt choreographer Vicky got critical acclaim for his realistic stunts in the first part, and the same man will choreograph for the sequel too. The film is expected to hit the screens soon.
