Recently, there had been reports circulating that Actor-composer Vijay Antony will  make his directorial debut with the remake of the blockbuster 'Pichaikaran' in Hindi, besides acting in the film.

In a recent interview to Deccan Chronicle, Vijay Antony clarified on the rumors and said that he is indeed going to remake ‘Pichaikaran’ in Hindi.

While he will be debuting as an actor and also will be the producing the film, he isn’t going to make his Bollywood debut as a director.

Director Sasi who did the original, will be helming the Hindi remake as well.

'Pichaikaran' which was released earlier this year, became one of the biggest money spinners of 2016 and completed 50 days in the Tamil box office apart from winning critical acclaim.

The film was released in Telugu later and the Telugu version titled as 'Bichagadu' also became a huge hit.

The film has raked in Rs 13 crore on a meager investment of just Rs 50 lakh and the phenomenal success of the film made it the most profitable dubbed film ever.
