Written by : TNM

Vettrimaran has acquired the rights of CS Chellappa’s Vaadivasal, a novel about Jallikattu. Vaadivasal, a novel penned by the noted writer in 1958, is a book about Jallikattu. It may be noted here that CS Chellappa, an acclaimed author, had won the highest literary honour, the Sahitya Academy award, for his novel Suthanthira Thagam.

Vettrimaran, known for making critically acclaimed films such as Aadukalam and Visaaranai, is currently busy directing Vada Chennai with Dhanush in the lead. In fact, both Aadukalam and Visaaranai went on to win the National Award.

News about the ace director obtaining the rights of Vaadivasal indicates that it could be the director’s next directorial venture. However, more news about it would emerge only after he wraps Vada Chennai. Incidentally, Vada Chennai is planned as a trilogy and the director is now wielding the megaphone for the first instalment.
