Written by : TNM

Looks like Venkatesh’s Guru will grace the theatres much ahead of its original release date. The filmmakers were planning to release the movie on April 7, but for certain reasons, the film will hit the marquee on March 31. The star, in fact, has begun promoting Guru.

Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, Guru is the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Irudhi Suttru which had Madhavan in the lead role. Sudha had directed Irudhu Suttru and its Hindi version Saala Khadoos. Venkatesh plays a boxing coach in the remake where he trains a fisherwoman as a boxer and gets her to win the championship.

Rithika Singh will be essaying the same role she had done in the Tamil version. It may be recalled here that the actress won the National Film Award – Special Jury Award for her performance in her debut film.

Sashikanth of Y Not Studios has produced Guru with Santosh Narayanan composing the music. Camera work is by KA Shakthivel and editing is by Satish Suriya.

With the film due for release later this month, Venkatesh is hopeful of scoring a big hit at the box office, considering the success of Guru’s Tamil and Hindi versions.
