The ‘Prince’ of Tollywood Mahesh Babu has just wrapped up the shooting of the AR Murugadoss directorial Spyder and moved over to Bharath Ane Nenu.

Spyder, which has gone into the post production mode, is scheduled for release on Dusshera this year and Bharath Ane Nenu for Sankaranti next year.

Meanwhile, director Vamsi Paidipally has revealed in an interview that he has signed up Mahesh Babu to play the lead role in his next film.

In fact, this would be Mahesh’s 25th film in his career. In the interview to a leading daily, Vamsi said that the actor agreed to hop on to his project soon after wrapping up Bharath Ane Nenu.

Mahesh found the first narration so impressive that he agreed to sign on the dotted lines, said the director.

However, playing the cards close to his chest, Vamsi refused to divulge any further details about the film. He maintained that it is too early to talk about the star cast and genre as everything is in the nascent stage.

If things work out as per plans, the untitled film should be out at the theatres during mid-2018. Enquiries about Mahesh Babu’s leading lady in the film revealed that Pooja Hegde is the strong contender but this was also not confirmed officially.

Vamsi’s last outing was Oopiri, a bilingual that was released in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The director had won the Filmfare award for it.

During the award ceremony, he said that it brought him inner happiness to win the coveted award for a feel good entertainer like Oopiri. The film had Nagarjuna and Karthi playing the lead roles with Tammannah as the heroine.
