Fans have been eagerly waiting to receive updates about Kollywood star Ajith Kumar’s upcoming movie Valimai. In a recent development, producer Boney Kapoor took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Valimai have been handed over to Raahul from Romeo Pictures, who is the business head at Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects, and also with the production house Gopuram Cinemas.

“We at Bayview Projects & Zee Studios are happy to announce that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of our film #Valimai have been entrusted with Raahul of Romeo pictures @mynameisraahul and @Gopuram_Cinemas,” the tweet posted by Boney Kapoor read.

Team Valimai reportedly has one more schedule left to shoot and is likely to move to the post-production phase shortly.  Since Ajith Kumar has a huge fan following in Kollywood, Valimai has become one of the most anticipated movies of 2021. Fans have been extremely keen to receive updates about the venture. Earlier, fans demanded updates about the movie to be given at public events unrelated to Valimai, such as a cricket match or the Chief Minister’s campaign for the upcoming state Assembly elections. Subsequently, actor Ajith released a statement condemning the move and also requested fans to not disrupt unrelated public events.

Eventually, the makers of the movie had a new update in store for fans. Sharing the announcement with fans on March 15, Boney Kapoor revealed that the first-look poster of the movie will be released on May 1, marking actor Ajith’s birthday. “The first look and the promotions of #Valimai will be initiated from May1st on the occasion of Mr #AjithKumar's 50th birthday #AK50 @BayViewProjOffl #Vinoth #Niravshah @SureshChandraa @thisisysr @dhilipaction @DoneChannel1 (sic),” Boney Kapoor’s tweet read.

Action flick Valimai is helmed by H Vinoth. Apart from Ajith, Valimai stars Huma Qureshi, Karthikeya Gummakonda, Yogi Babu and Sumitra in important roles. Valimai has music by popular music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The movie is bankrolled by Bayview Projects LLP and distributed by Zee Studios.
