Vadivelu’s ‘Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikesi’ starts rolling

Written by : TNM

In his illustrious career, Vadivelu is known for many of memorable roles but his portrayal of twin brothers Pulikesi and Ukraputhan in 2006 historic comedy Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi is undoubtedly one of his best performances. A decade since the release of the film, its sequel finally went on the floors today in a studio in Chennai. The film reunites Vadivelu, director Shankar and Chimbu Devan, the trio behind the success of the original. On this special, three posters of the film were released. The film is being jointly produced by Shankar and his 2.0 producers Lyca Productions.

According to a source, a huge period set has been erected in Chennai’s EVP studio where some key scenes in the first schedule will be shot. “It’s going to be shot on a bigger canvas. With Lyca Productions on board, the makers have decided to spend lavishly and truly make the sequel a notch better than the first part.”

“Parvathy Omanakuttan is being paired with Vadivelu, and a huge supporting cast is also part of the team. Ghibran has been roped in to compose the music,” a source from the film’s unit said.

Art director T Muthuraj has already erected two important sets where most of the film will be shot. Having been out of action for quite some time, Vadivelu would be hoping to make a strong comeback with this project. His recent appearances in films such as Kathi Sandai and Sivalinga were not received well.
