Upendra to work on two projects simultaneously

Kannada star Upendra launched his new project I Love You on May 21 amidst a lot of expectations among his fans. The actor also made another exciting announcement about a new film, which is titled Adheera. To be helmed by debut director Santhu, the film will be bankrolled by Kanakapura Srinivas.

According to reports, Upendra was keen on completing I Love You but was so impressed with the trailer created by Santhu that he agreed to work on Adheera simultaneously. While these two projects are in the making, Upendra has also agreed to star in a film titled Dr Modi. Further, the star will be collaborating with his nephew Niranjan for a film which he will be directing himself.

Upendra is one of the leading heroes in the Kannada film industry. He began his acting career with Anantana Avantara in 1989 with a cameo role. Having acted in a number of Kannada films in his career which turned out to be hits, Upendra has also acted in a few Telugu movies.

The star, who has a huge fan following, announced his political entry last year. There was a lot of speculation that he would quit acting to become a politician full time. However, the Sandalwood star decided to put that career on the backburner for the time being and return to what he does best – films. He has surprised his fans by inking several new film projects.

The actor recently penned his autobiography. Published by Jameel Savanna, the book is titled Idanna Odbedi, which means ‘Don’t read this’. Upendra termed the book a mini-autobiography explaining that he jotted down his thoughts randomly and then corrected it when he found the time.

Upendra has won several awards in his long career, including Udaya Film Awards for Best Actor for the film A, Filmfare Award for Best Director – Kannada for the film Upendra, South Indian International Movie Awards for Best Actor for Katariveera Surasundarangi, among others.
