The makers of Upendra’s upcoming film were having a tough time picking up a title for the project. Now we learn that, after much deliberation, the director finally has chosen Buddhivantha 2. On this, director Maurya DN told Cinema Express, “From the time I started my script, I had Buddhivantha and Pithamaha in mind. Since one of Upendra’s films was already titled Buddhivantha, I was looking for another name. But I came back to Buddhivantha since the title fits the story. We had no choice but to with this.”

While this gave rise to speculation that the film may be a sequel to Upendra’s 2008 blockbuster movie Buddhivantha, the director confirmed that it is not so. Upendra will be playing dual roles in this film, which has Sonal Monteiro and Meghana Raj as the female leads. Aditya has been roped in to play the main villain. Crystal Paark Cinemas is bankrolling the film.

While Buddhivantha 2 is under progress, Upendra is expecting the release of I Love You. The film, directed and produced by Chandru, stars Upendra and Rachita Ram as the lead pair. Sonu Gowda plays a pivotal role in this flick, besides a host of supporting actors. The technical crew of I Love You includes music by Kiran Thotambyle and cinematography by Naveen Kumar. It is a bilingual that will be released in Kannada and Telugu. It is scheduled to hit the marquee next month.

The star has also inked a deal to star in a movie that will be directed by Shashank. Besides directing the film, Shanshank will be bankrolling it under his own production house. With the announcement coming in that Shashank and Upendra will be teaming up for a film, let’s wait for info on the rest of the cast and crew which should be out soon.
