Written by : TNM

Actor son of Stalin, Udhayanidhi has announced that his film Manithan, will be releasing on Friday, across 300 screens all over Tamil Nadu including all available screens in Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet districts.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Film Producers Council has come down heavily on theater owners who did not screen Theri.

Last Wednesday, the council had a crisis meeting headed by its president Kalaipuli S Thanu and made a declaration that it will render support only to the theaters that screened Theri in Chengalpet, Thiruvallur and Kancheepraum district.

In an official statement, the council mentioned, "We have decided to release upcoming Tamil films only in 11 theaters in these 3 regions.”

In reply to a particular tweet, Udhayanidhi questioned “Where was the producers unity when I was rejected entertainment tax exemption for all my films for the past 5 years?”

Actor Sasikumar’s ‘Vetrivel’ produced by Lyca Productions got released last Friday in the theaters where ‘Theri’ did not release.
