Written by : TNM

Maggi, Nestle’s star-product for India and a brand in itself has reportedly run into trouble with the authorities in Uttar Pradesh. After testing samples in labs in UP, authorities reportedly found high levels of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and lead in the packet of noodles.Aside from the relevant details, social media users picked on what caught their eye the most. It was MSG:Maggi has excess MSG? I have visual proof. See for yourself. pic.twitter.com/IBBf3V1pUG — Karthik Srinivasan (@beastoftraal) May 18, 2015I don’t know how much MSG there is in Maggi, but there is a lot of Maggi on MSG’s hands pic.twitter.com/z6wsgiNmI9   — Mihir Fadnavis (@mihirfadnavis) May 20, 2015Exclusive picture of MSG in Maggi. pic.twitter.com/23WMBBdWoq   — GRV (@MildlyClassic) May 19, 2015Maggi has high levels of MSG? What a coincidence, MSG has high levels of Maggi too. pic.twitter.com/CUTjSWPP5w   — NumbYaar (@NumbYaar) May 18, 2015For the uninitiated, MSG is the movie "Messenger of God" starring Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the leader of the Dera Sacha Sauda. On a serious note though, Maggi India has been on a denial-overdrive ever since reports started trickling in. Their Twitter and Facebook pages  are flooded with messages by consumers and all the messages have got an immediate response from the noodle makers.  A snapshot of their Twitter page hints at almost a PR exercise at denial. And another: Their Twitter handle has also been sending out a text document which contains a blanket denial of both charges.
