Trisha’s ‘Mohini’ trailer out, film will see her in a double role

The horror film is being directed by Madhesh, filmmaker Shankar’s former assistant. The official trailer of the film was unveiled by actor Karthi recently. Mohini comes Kodi’s success, which saw Trisha give a powerful performance as well.

The principal shooting of the film will began in the first week of June in the UK and stars Trisha in a titular role.

With 75% shooting is completed, the filming should be wrapped up in 15 days.

According to sources, Mohni is based on supernatural incidents. Trisha is Mohini in the film and she will be applying prosthetics and special makeup for her role. She also plays a baker who runs her own restaurant. Her character maintains a food blog in which she shares culinary tips. Since she has not played such a role before, she jumped at the opportunity when she was approached.

The entire film has been shot abroad - haunted locations in the UK, Thailand and Mexico. The creative team includes RB Gurudhev as Director of Photography and Vivek-Mervin duo for music. It also has has Harry Potter's technical team who will work on visual effects. The movie also stars Jacky, Yogi Babu, Suresh and Poornima Bhagyaraj.

Bankrolled by Lakshman Kumar under the banner Marvelworth Productions, Mohini will be released by Prince Pictures, which earlier distributed Suriya's Singam 3.

Unlike her contemporaries, Trisha is no longer after star heroes and is keen to take up women-centric projects.  Having recently walked out of Vikram’s Saamy 2 over creative differences, Trisha has about half a dozen projects in her kitty.

She currently has Garjanai, Tamil remake of NH10, apart from projects such as Sathuranga Vettai 2, 96, Mohini and 1818 in her kitty.

This year also marks her Malayalam debut with alongside Nivin Pauly in Jude.
