The poster of the upcoming Malayalam film Luca was unveiled recently with its lead pair Tovino Thomas and Ahaana Krishna featuring in it. While there were speculations that it would be a romantic film, we now hear that it is an investigative thriller which also has some amount of romance.
After the title was announced some time ago, the first-look poster of the film was released featuring Tovino Thomas painting a canvas. He apparently plays a scrap artist in the film. Ahanaa Krishna’s character is named Niharikaa.
Wielding the megaphone for Luca will be debut director Arun Bose. He has scripted the film in association with Mridul George. The technical crew of Luca comprise Sooraj S Kurup to compose the tunes, Nimish Ravi for cranking the camera and Nikhil Venu for editing. The film is being bankrolled jointly by Linto Thomas and Prince Hussain under the banner Stories and Thoughts Productions.
Its supporting cast includes Vineetha Koshy, Thalaivasal Vijay, Jaffer Idukki, Neena Kurup, Chembil Ashokan, Pauly Valsan and Devi Ajith among others.
Ahaana Krishna, who made her acting debut in Rajeev Ravi’s Njan Steve Lopez, was after that seen playing Nivin Pauly’s sister in Njandukalude Naattil Oru Idavela. It’s after a gap that she would be appearing in Luca.
Tovino Thomas’ last release was Uyare, which hit the marquee last month. The film turned out to be a big hit both commercially as well as critically. Uyare, directed by debutant Manu Ashok, saw Parvathy play an acid attack survivor and Tovino played a supporting character called.
The actor is also busy with a few other projects, including Ashiq Abu’s Virus, Salim Ahamed’s And The Oscar Goes To and Praveen Prabharam’s Kalki, among other projects in different stages of production. The release date of And The Oscar Goes To is yet to be revealed but the film is expected to hit the marquee next month.
