Tovino Thomas to play a superhero in ‘Minnal Murali’

Tovino Thomas is one of the lucky stars in the Malayalam film industry to bag good offers. The latest venture that he has signed is Minnal Murali in which he plays a local superhero. This is the first time the star is playing a superhero and is looking forward to it. Minnal Murali will be directed by Basil Joseph of Godha fame and bankrolled by Sophia Paul under the banner Weekend Blockbusters. Details about the rest of the star cast and crew will be out officially soon. Reports are that the pre-production is underway and shooting will begin once the preparations are completed.

In the meantime, Tovino Thomas has multiple projects needing attention including Manu Ashokan’s Uyare, Salim Ahamed’s And The Oscar Goes To, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Lucifer, Aashiq Abu’s Virus, Arun Bose’s Luca, Praveen Prabharam Kalki and Kilometers and Kilometers with Jeo Baby. Of this, Luca, And The Oscar Goes To and Lucifer have reached the post-production mode.

Tovino Thomas is currently busy shooting for Uyare, which is directed by Manu Ashokan, an erstwhile associate of the late filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. The film is bankrolled by Shegna, Sherga and Shenuga, the daughters of producer PV Gangadharan, under the banner Grihalakshmi Films. The music for Uyare is composed by Gopi Sunder, and Mahesh Narayan is in charge at the editing table. Director Manu’s wife Shreya is the film’s costume designer.

Basil Joseph made his directorial debut in the Malayalam film industry with Kunjiramayanam which had Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Aju Varghese playing the lead roles. He then directed Godha with Tovino Thomas, Renji Panicker, and Wamiqa Gabbi in the star cast.
