Tollywood comedian Vijay Sai was found hanging at his residence in Yousufguda in Hyderabad on Monday.

According to the police, Vijay’s father found him hanging in his room at around 9am and alerted them. The 38-year-old actor had hanged himself from a ceiling fan using a bedsheet. No suicide note was found, and a case is yet to be filed.

“We are yet to file a case. We are investigating the matter. We don’t know the reason for his suicide yet,” Jubilee Hills Sub Inspector E Shanker told TNM.

Speaking to T News, Vijay’s mother said that he had locked himself inside his room after breakfast, and the family assumed that he had gone back to sleep. However, after Vijay failed to open the door despite repeated knocking, they broke open the door only to find him hanging from the fan.

Jubilee Hills Inspector, K Purna Chander told TNM that Vijay may have been in depression over his troubled marriage. SI Shanker said that the couple had been staying apart for the past three years.

Vijay entered Kollywood as a child artist in Swati Kiranam released in 1992. The 2013 film Ammailu Abbailu saw his most notable performance. Besides this, he appeared in films like Bommarillu, Soggadu, Brindavanam, and Party

According to some reports, Vijay was in a financial crisis as he was struggling to find sufficient opportunities for work.
