Tired of queuing up for cash? AIB cracks you up while you wait

Written by : TNM Staff

We aren’t sure yet what results we'll finally get out of the demonetisation exercise, but one thing we’ve already got plenty of is memes, jokes and satirical pieces. And where there's controversy, All India Bakchod (AIB) is never far behind.

The comedy group has come up with their take on demonetisation, taking on the hypocrisy and apathy that lets people palm off old notes to servants, talk about necessary sacrifice while ordering everything online from the comfort of their homes, and indiscriminately use the argument that, when the soldier can do it, why can't you? The video also takes digs at the "advanced technology" in the new 2k note, which has everything from nano chips to embedded "culture" that will prevent it from being misused in immoral ways.

The “bhakt” mentality which believes this move will solve everything from black money to global warming finds its way into the script, too. In the background, we can hear the PM asking the "mitron" for three days, three weeks, fifty days, six months and so on, even as frequent changes to the rules go from the simply irritating to the sublimely ridiculous.

As should be expected, the comments section for the video on YouTube is completely polarized, with everything from filthy abuse to hearty praise being showered on it.
