The two superstars of Kollywood, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, haven't been seen together in a film in years but it's a well-known fact that the two of them share a warm friendship.

These pictures from the Vikatan Awards during which Rajinikanth presented Kamal with the Lifetime Achievement Award have delighted fans from both camps. 

Kamal Haasan was already a star by the time Rajinikanth made his debut. While the two of them acted together in several movies in the ‘70s and even in a Hindi film in the ‘80s, they decided to build their own fan-base separately.

Rajinikanth went on to become a larger than life hero, inventing a formula that he stuck to for the most part. Kamal, on the other hand, has never stopped experimenting. 

Rajinikanth has never won a National Award unlike the latter who has three to his credit. But, the Thaliavar unleashes more hysteria in the state during his film's release than any other actor. 

Though fans from both sides lock horns occasionally on who is better, Tamil Nadu takes equal pride in both actors.
