Thanks to you Twitter: We are married

The News Minute| September 10, 2014| 1.20 pm ISTMarriages are not necessarily made in heaven, they now seem to be made on Twitter as well. And when the Larry bird has made you meet your match, a cake in its honour makes a lot of sense. Alexis Grant, an entrepreneurial writer & digital strategist, wrote on her blog that one night while she was feeling both frustrated (single at 30) and silly, she tweeted that 'would like to meet an outdoorsy guy'."Now, this was somewhat out of character for me. I do like to let my personality show on Twitter, but I also try to keep both feet planted firmly on the professional side. Except in moments of weakness like this one — a moment of weakness I’m so glad I had.Two guys responded to that tweet. One lived somewhere in middle America and had little in common with me. (Good on him for trying.) The other was @benlcollins.He sent me a direct message saying he’d just moved to D.C., was looking to meet some new people and could grow stubble upon request. Sense of humor! Score!."And the love story on Twitter began.Because we met on @Twitter, our Twitter bird wedding cake (credit @andreasjames, CC @benlcollins): pic.twitter.com/V6BqikvxEn— Alexis Grant (@alexisgrant) September 9, 2014
