Nivin Pauly’s 1983 was a sports drama that was based on the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s career. Recently, the star told the cricketer that he had tried to approach him to watch the film on its release in 2014 but it did not happen.

However, now that Nivin Pauly is associated with the Kerala Blasters Football team which is co-owned by Sachin Tendulkar, he got an opportunity to build a rapport with him.

During an interaction, Nivin mentioned 1983 and expressed his desire to screen it for Sachin. To this, the cricketer had one condition - that he would be willing to see the film provided Nivin was there with him throughout the screening. The legendary cricketer also requested for English subtitles.

Directed by fashion photographer Abrid Shine, the film also has Nikki Galrani, Anoop Menon, Joy Mathew, Srinda Arhaan, Saiju Kurup, Jacob Gregory, Neeraj Madhav, Shine Tom Chacko, Dinesh, Sui Joseph, and Sanju in the star cast. The film was released in the year 2014.
