Teaser of Varun Tej's 'Valmiki' is out

The makers of the Telugu movie Valmiki have released the first look teaser of the film.  As being mentioned by director Harish Shankar earlier, the teaser is action-packed and features Varun Tej in a never before seen avatar.  Sporting the negative role for the first time, fans and audience have been lauding the gangster look of Varun Tej.

Varun also took to Twitter to share the release of the teaser. He tweeted, “Me in #Valmiki like you’ve never seen before! Hope you guys like it."

Director Harish wrote on Twitter, "Let’s welcome the Brand new and the Grand new Avataar of @IAmVarunTej .... https://youtu.be/HqRk60a6JAA  Along with..... @Atharvaamurali @hegdepooja @mirnaliniravi @DoP_Bose @MickeyJMeyer."

Valmiki is the remake of the hit Tamil movie Jigarthanda that was written and directed by Karthik Subburaj. The film has Varun Tej reprising the role done by Bobby Simha in Tamil. We also hear that Atharvaa Murali will be foraying into the Telugu film industry with this remake and he will be seen in the role played by Siddharth in the original.

Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose the tunes for the film. Valmiki will be bankrolled by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under their banner.

It may be noted here that the original version in Tamil was written and directed by Karthik Subburaj and had Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles with Nassar, Ambika, Karunakaran and Sangili Murugan playing the supporting roles. The film fetched the National Film Awards for best supporting actor for Bobby Simha and best editing for Vivek Harshan. The film was bankrolled by Kathiresan under his banner SMS Pictures. Made on a budget of Rs 10 crore, it fetched around Rs 35 crore at the box office.
