Tamil Rockers site leaks ‘Spider-Man: Far from home’ online ahead of India release

In what may not come as a shock to movie-goers any more, piracy website Tamil Rockers has leaked another movie online just a couple of days ahead of its release in India. The latest victim is the Marvel movie Spider-Man: Far from home, which released on June 28 in China and Japan.

According to a report by NDTV, a low quality version of the movie was first leaked online on June 30. In favour of the Spider-Man franchise, the sound and visual quality of the movies are terrible as they are all versions recorded with a hand-held cam recorder. Also, the leaked copies are suspected to be different from the full versions of the original movie since the runtime is only 1 hour and 54 minutes as opposed to the original runtime of 2 hour 9 minutes.

Also, according to the report, one of the versions of the movie has watermarks and advertisements for 1xBET, a Russia-based online betting company.

Spider-Man: Far from home is the 23rd movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the resounding success of Avengers: Endgame which released in April this year.

In the opening weekend in China and Japan, the movie fetched a staggering box-office collection of Rs 764 crore. The movie released in the UK and US on Tuesday, and will be hitting the Indian screens on July 4.

Written by Chris McKenna and directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man has Tom Holland playing the role of Peter Parker aka Spider Man. The movie’s cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau and J. B. Smoove. Opening to positive reviews, critics has called the Marvel movie an unpredictable blend of teenage romance and superhero action.
