Having successfully completed the shoot of Singam 3 aka S3, Suriya is excited to commence work on his next film, Thaana Serntha Kootam, with Vignesh Shivan.

The project was successfully launched in Chennai on Wednesday and the regular shooting will commence from Nov 9. To be produced by Studio Green, the makers are planning to shoot the film in Chennai, Karaikudi, Hyderabad and Madurai. Keerthy Suresh will be playing the leading lady and it’ll be the first time she would be pairing up with Suriya, who has finally got rid off his handlebar moustache.

The project was rumoured to be the official remake of Akshay Kumar-starrer Special 26. However, the makers rubbished these claims and confirmed that it’s an original script and it will be action entertainer. With the rest of the cast in the process of being finalized, it needs to be seen who will play the antagonist as Vignesh doesn’t want to cast a familiar face and is keen on taking audiences by surprise with a casting coup.

Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the tunes and this will be his first collaboration with Suriya.
