Suriya’s S3 – tax exemption and solo release work in the film's favour

Written by : TNM

The Suriya starrer S3 is all set for a big release on January 26, 2017. The team has been promoting the third instalment of the Singam series vigorously, with just a few days left for its release.

Two major advantages that work in favour of the S3 filmmakers are that it has been awarded a U certificate and it has obtained tax exemption from the state government. Also, it looks like S3 will get a solo release on January 26 with no other Tamil releases slotted on that day till now.

Directed by Hari, the creator of the series, the film marks the return of Suriya as khaki-clad hero Durai Singam, a character he popularized over the years. He is paired with Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan. In a recent interview, Suriya revealed that the film is based on real events that took place in Andhra Pradesh during the regime of former Chief Ministers MG Ramachandran and NT Rama Rao, and it has been predominantly shot in Vishakhapatnam.

The film marks the debut of popular television actor Thakur Anoop Singh, who plays the prime antagonist. The film’s teaser, which has clocked over 1 crore views so far, is a hit and has set the right expectations for the film.
