Suriya's highly-anticipated science fiction thriller '24' has managed to get a massive release in the United States, thanks to its distributor Cine Galaxy, which is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a huge success.

The movie, which will see the light of day simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu on May 6, will be released in 134 screens for the Tamil version and 133 screens for the Telugu version, taking the total count to 267, a never-before-seen number for Suriya in the US.

In fact, it is a record for a non-Rajinikanth, non-Shankar film in the US. "We are planning a grand release for the film on May 6 in the USA with premieres a day ahead of its release on May 5th. As of now, the screen count for Tamil stands at 134 and Telugu at 133," says Cine Galaxy, who has earlier been associated with superhit films like 'Theri', 'Manam', 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoi' and 'Nannaku Prematho'.

Meanwhile, the film is gearing up for certification by the censor board. The distributors and theater owners are waiting with bated breath to see if the film gets universal viewing or not since it will be the deciding factor for the exemption of entertainment tax.

Produced by Suriya's home banner 2D Entertainment and directed by Vikram Kumar of '13B' fame, 24 has Suriya playing a triple role including that of the main antagonist. The film is distributed by Gnanavelraja's Studio Green and stars Nithya Menon and Samantha as female leads. The music is composed by AR Rahman.
