It is confirmed that veteran actor Suresh Gopi will be teaming up with the Kasaba director Nithin Renji Panicker for a film that remains untitled as of now. The film will also have another veteran Lal in an important role. It is touted to be a family drama that will revolve on two generations of a family.

The cast also includes Zaya David, Muthumani, IM Vijayan, Sujith Sankar, Alencier, and Kannan Rajan P Dev. Joby George is bankrolling the film under his banner Goodwill Entertainments. National award-winning cinematographer Nikhil S Praveen will crank the camera with Mansoor Muthootti doing the editing and Ranjin Raj composing the tunes.

Earlier, there were reports of this film being a sequel to Lelam, a 1997 crime film directed by Joshiy with Suresh Gopi in the lead. But those speculations have been put to rest with the director clarifying to The New Indian Express that it is a completely new story and not associated with Lelam.

Suresh Gopi is currently busy with the Anoop Sathyan directorial that is not yet titled. The film is produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films and he plays the lead role in it. In the film, Shobhana will be seen pairing up with Suresh Gopi, with whom she has acted in a number of films in the past. Incidentally, this is Shobhana’s first film in six years and is therefore known to be her comeback venture. The last time Suresh Gopi and Shobana came together in a film was for Makalkku in 2005.

The shooting of the Anoop Sathyan directorial is currently happening in Chennai. Kalyani Priyadarshan has been signed up to play a pivotal role in the project. Anoop Sathyan is also scripting the film. The technical crew includes Alphonse for music and Mukesh Muraleedharan for cinematography.
