Sumanth Shailendra’s next titled ‘Govinda Govinda’

Sumanth Shailendra’s new film is titled Govinda Govinda and it will mark the directorial debut of Tilak. Sumanth plays a college student in this entertainer which has Bhavana and Kavitha Gowda as the female leads. The shooting of this film is already in progress with the team camping in Kaiwara. This is the actor's next venture following Dilwala, and his first film to come out after the actor got married.

The film is bankrolled by Sumanth’s father Shailendra in association with Ravi R Garini. Touted to be a romantic thriller, reports are that it is inspired by the Telugu movie Brochevarevarura. Sources in the know say that the filmmakers have retained the core plot of the Telugu film while making changes to suit the Kannada audiences. Govinda Govinda will mark the debut of music director Hitesh, Actor Pradeep Raj is also a part of the cast, while Kumar is the cinematographer roped in to crank the camera.

It may be noted here that Brochevarevarura, which released in June this year, was a crime comedy that went on to become a big hit. The film was directed Vivek Athreya and produced by Vijay Kumar Manyam under the banner of Manyam Productions. It starred Sree Vishnu, Nivetha Thomas, Nivetha Pethuraj, Satyadev Kancharana in the lead roles with Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Rahul Ramakrishna in important roles. Vivek Sagar had composed music for this film with Sai Sriram taking care of the cinematography and Raviteja Girijala doing the editing.

Sumanth made his acting debut with Aata in 2011 and since then has acted in a number of films. Aata was produced by his father Shailendra and directed by Vijayakumar. However, this debut film bombed at the box office following which the actor underwent rigorous training in acting. He then came up with Diwala, which is termed as his biggest hit till date
