SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 to have bigger special effects, set to release in April 2017

Written by : TNM

The shoot of maverick director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 will resume from the first week of June and will be wrapped up by October. The director has allotted 180 days to the current VFX supervisor RC Kamalakannan. which is also a major reason for Baahubali 2’s release being pushed to April 2017.

It was reported that Rajamouli was a bit disappointed with the VFX works in part 1 even though it won a National award for VFX.

Rajamouli's previous films such as Magadheera, Eega had a lot of VFX work. Magadheera was the first Telugu film in which special effects were used for about 1 hour 40 minutes out of the total duration of 2 hours and 35 minutes.

His latest outing Bahubali: The Beginning was even bigger with the makers spending Rs 22 crores on VFX alone.

According to earlier reports, VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan, who was instrumental in bringing together various VFX studios to work collaboratively and create the brilliant visual extravaganza, has exited from part 2, because he had some prior contractual agreement with director Shankar for 2.0.
