Actor Nayanthara and Aval fame Milind Rau have joined hands for a new project which has been titled Netrikann. Tipped to be a woman-centric thriller, the film is believed to be an official remake of Korean thriller Blind. The film is about a blind woman who gives testimony in a hit-and-run case and is then forced to confront the killer on her own.

While the makers haven’t officially confirmed whether the film is a remake, going by the title font which is written in braille, it’s safe to assume that Nayanthara plays a blind character. The film marks the debut of Nayanthara’s partner Vignesh ShivN as a producer. He will bankroll the project under the banner of Rowdy Pictures.

According to the latest reports, Sonam Kapoor has signed the deal to star in the Hindi version of Netrikann. Shome Makhija will be wielding the megaphone for this venture with Sujoy Ghosh being its creative producer.

Last seen in Vijay’s Bigil, Nayanthara has a few interesting projects up her sleeve. She is expecting the release of Darbar for Pongal next year. It is an action thriller film written and directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions.

The film has Rajinikanth and Nayanthara as the lead pair with the Bollywood star and Sunil Shetty in an important role. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer of this flick with cinematography and editing by Santhosh Sivan and Sreekar Prasad, respectively. The film is scheduled to hit the marquee on January 10, 2020.

Sonam Kapoor’s last film release was The Zoya Factor, which hit the marquee this year. The film was based on the novel with the same title penned by Anuja Chauhan. It was about an advertising agency executive, Zoya Singh Solanki getting to meet the Indian Cricket Team and turning out to be their lucky mascot which eventually helps the team to lift the Cricket World Cup in 2010. Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan played the lead role in this flick.
