Sivakarthikeyan turned producer with Kanaa, a sports drama which hit the marquee last year. The movie revolved around women’s cricket and was well-received at the box office. Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj played the lead roles in this Arunraja Kamaraj directorial.

Following the massive success of Kanaa, Sivakarthikeyan is bankrolling another film titled Nenjam Undu Nermai Undu Oodu Raja. Incidentally, the title is picked from one of MGR’s hit numbers.The film is written and directed by Karthik Venugopalan and bankrolled by Siva Kathikeyan under his banner Siva Karthikeyan Productions.

Rio Raj and Shirin Kanchwala play the lead pair in this film with RJ Vigneshkanth, Nanjil Sampath and Radha Ravi in the supporting cast. The technical crew of this film include Shabir as the music director with UK Senthil Kumar cranking the camera and Fenny Oliver in charge of editing.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is busy with a number of films including Mr. Local. It is a comic caper that is being directed by M Rajesh. Sharing the screen space with Siva Karthikeyan as his heroine is Nayanthara. Hip Hop Thamizha is composing the tunes for this venture with Dinesh Krishnan cranking the camera and Vivek Harshan in charge of the editing. Mr Local is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under his banner Studio Green and will be distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. Reports are that Mr Local will be a May 1 release.

Besides Mr Local, Sivakarthikeyan also has R Ravikumar directorial Nachathiram, P. S. Mithran’s Hero, Pandiraj’s En Peru Padayappa and Vignesh Shivan’s Vettri Nichayam.

With his acting assignments going in the right track, Sivakarthikeyan is on a roll being able to pick and choose some of the best scripts for production.
