Sivakarthikeyan's 'Remo' rakes in 27 crores from TN alone

Written by : TNM

Sivakarthikeyan's Tamil comedy 'Remo', which released last Friday has emerged as a blockbuster, despite facing competition from two other releases.

According to Veteran Tamil film distributor Tiruppur Subramaniam,  “Sivakarthikeyan connects the most with family audiences after MGR, Rajini and Vijay. Sivakarthikeyan has made a swift through all his movies, where the collection figures have been incredibly at the best (sic).”

“We had quit distribution after Rajnikanth’s Sivaji, but Remo made us to step again into distribution. Normally, distributors will go in search of producers to buy a film, but without any hesitation or ego, producer RD Raja came to us," he added.

According to trade sources, In spite of huge openings, the nominal ticket pricing was a key element for the success.

The producer agreed to release the film on percentage sharing basis which helped the theater owners and distributors ensure that all screens were filled with houseful shows.

Remo is said to have collected nearly 27 crores in Tamil Nadu alone and Sivakarthikeyan has overtaken Dhanush, Suriya, Vikram and Dhanush's opening collections.
