Singer Sayanora turns music composer

Written by : Digital Native

Noted playback singer Sayanora has turned music composer for the Suraj Venjaramoodu-starrer Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri. The first song from the film, Chakka Paattu, an upbeat number all about the jackfruit and the culinary delights that can be prepared with it, was released recently.

The song has been picturised on the lead characters Kuttanpillai and Sakunthala, who play cops in the film. The number mentions the jackfruit tree on their land and talks about how their love for it is more than for their three children.

Reports indicate that the album will comprise three songs, with Chakka Paattu being the first single to have been released. With renowned lyricist Anvar Ali penning the lyrics, the number has been crooned by Sannidhanandan and RJ Nimmy.

The audio launch held at Kochi was a grand affair with several celebs from the Malayalam film industry including Indrajith, Rima Kallingal, Shyamaprasad, Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Yesudas, Vinay Forrt, Jyotsna, Job Kurien, Gopi Sunder, Anarkali Marikkar, Ramesh Pisharody and Anumol making it to the event. Fahadh Faasil did the honours of launching the audio.

Directed by Jean Markose, the film has Suraj Venjaramoodu playing the lead role with RJ turned actor Mithun Ramesh, Uppum Mulakum fame Biju Sopanam and Srinda in crucial roles.

While there are a few women music composers in the Malayalam film industry, Sayanora has gone a step ahead by composing the BGM for the film as well, say reports. Written by Jean Markose and Joselet Joseph, the film’s camera work is done by Fazil Nassar and Shibish K Chandran is taking care of the editing. The film is being bankrolled by Raju Nandakumar under the banner Alanghat Productions.

Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri is in the post-production mode and its release date will be announced soon, we hear.
