Shriya Saran could star in Tamil remake of 100 Degree Celsius

Rakesh Gopan’s 2014 critically-acclaimed women-centric Malayalam drama, "100 Degree Celsius", is being remade in Telugu and Tamil.

While Raai Laxmi and Nikesha Patel have already been finalised to play the leads, Shriya could join them too as director Mithran Jawahar has initiated talks but has confirmed that she’s yet to sign the film.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, he said, "We have initiated talks with Shriya Saran, but she is yet to give her nod for the project. Her inclusion will be confirmed in the coming days. The shoot was supposed to start last month, but has been postponed due to demonetization and other issues. As of now, the entire cast will be finalised by January and we will go on floors early 2017".

Last seen in the 2011 Tamil film "Rowthiram" in a full-fledged role, Shriya is currently shooting for Simbu’s "Anbaanavan Asaradhavan Adangaathavan", apart from Balakrishna’s "Gauthamiputra Satakarni". She’s become very choosy about projects and is accepting roles with substantial scope for performance. Even though her role in AAA is more or less an extended cameo, she accepted it because it’s a very interesting character.
