Shooting of 'Lucifer' stalled due to heavy rains in Kerala

The much-awaited film, Lucifer, which will mark the directorial debut of ace actor Prithviraj, started rolling with the official pooja last month. The shooting also commenced immediately thereafter but now Prithviraj has revealed that it has been put on hold due to heavy rains. He posted this on Instagram, “When you have multiple cameras set up on a complex rig and a superstar waiting..but the rain gods decide WAIT is all you will do through the day!” indicating that the team can do nothing about it but wait.

The shooting of Lucifer began on July 18th with plans to shoot extensively at different locations in Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai and Kuttikkanam. The technical crew of the film includes Sujith Vasudevan for cinematography and Samjith for editing. It is bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Films. The film has been scripted by Murali Gopy.

Mohanlal plays the lead role in this flick with the star cast also including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Saniya Iyappan. Veteran director Fazil, Prithviraj’s brother Indrajith Sukumaran and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi are also part of the star cast.

Prithviraj Sukumaran is a well known actor and producer. He has acted in several successful films and has bankrolled movies that went on to become blockbuster hits. Besides directing Lucifer, the star has a string to acting assignments needing his attention including Nine, a sci-fi thriller, Aadujeevitham, and Champ. Two of his films My Story and Koode released within a month and he has some more film scheduled for release later this year. With the shooting beginning just a few days ago, its release date has not been disclosed yet.

On Lucifer, Mohanlal had said earlier, “Lucifer will be a good film. It will have an interesting story and narration techniques. It will be a good entertainer that will be liked by everyone. It is not easy to make an entertainer.”
