Shekhar Kammula to cast newbies in his upcoming flick

Director Sekhar Kammula’s last big hit in Tollywood was Fidaa which released last year. Ever since then, there are huge expectations among his fans on what his next project would be. While Fidaa starred Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, his new venture will have a complete set of newbies. The director is indeed well known for churning out super hit movies with new comers and he is all set to go for it again.

Reports are that the leading distribution house Asian Films will be producing the film along with P Ram Mohan while Sekhar Kammula’s Amigos Creations presenting the movie. Sources in the know say that the scripting work of the film has been completed and the prep work to take it on to the floors has begun. The shooting schedules will begin soon, add sources.

Earlier, there were reports that Sekhar Kammula had roped in Vikram’s son Dhruv to play the lead role in his upcoming romantic entertainer. It needs to be seen if he will be a part of the star cast. Incidentally, Dhruv is currently busy with the Bala directorial Varma, which is the remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy that catapulted Vijay Devarakonda’s star status.

Shekar Kammula made his directorial debut in the year 1999 with the Telugu - English bilingual Dollar Dreams. He won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director – Golden Lotus Award for the film. He then went on to direct movies such as Anand, Happy Days, and Life is Beautiful. He made his debut in the Tamil film industry with the 2014 release Nee Enge En Anbe that had Nayanthara in the lead role. The film was bilingual made in Telugu as Anamika simultaneously along with the Tamil version.
