The much-anticipated Rajinikanth starrer 2.0, a sequel to Enthiran, is on the verge of completion, its director Shankar tweeted on Friday. He confirmed that the team has completed shooting a major scene and that the project is almost complete except for one song and some patch work. With this update, the team has successfully completed the Chennai schedule.

In a tweet, Shankar wrote: “With my team after finishing a major scene of 2.0. One song and some patch works are only the balance.” He also shared a picture of the unit with the tweet.

“The song will be shot on Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson, and it’s most likely to be canned next month. Nearly 90 per cent of the film has already been wrapped up. The post-production work is simultaneously underway in over 10 studios across the globe. As planned earlier, the film will have a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi this Diwali,” a source said.

Being made on a lavish budget of Rs. 450 crore, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Akshay Kumar, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain. Akshay plays the prime antagonist and he has used birds to wreak havoc in the film.
