Shaji N Karun’s next is 'Olu'

It has been announced officially that the veteran cinematographer and director Shaji N Karun’s upcoming film has been titled as Olu. He has roped in Shane Nigam and Esther Anil to play the leading roles in this flick which will be bankrolled by Dr. AV Anoop under his home banner AVA Productions.

The film will have its music composed by Sreevalsan. J. Menon and Isaac Thomas Kottukappally. While M.J. Radhakrishnan will be wielding the camera for Olu, Sreekar Prasad will be taking charge of the editing.

Shaji N Karun, the National Award winning director and cinematographer, made his debut with Piravi in 1988 which won him the Caméra d'Or - Mention d'honneur at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival. He is a seven-time National Award winner having won the honour for Kutty Srank (2009) Best Film, Vanaprastham (1999) Best Film, Sham's Vision (English) (1997) Best Non-Feature Film, Swaham (1995) Special Jury Award, Piravi (1989) Best Film - (Producer), Piravi (1989) Best Director and Thampuand (1979) Best Cinematographer (Black & White).

He has also won a number of Kerala State Government Awards apart from having a host of National and International awards and honors to his credit. Shaji N Karun has held the camera for films such as Genesis (1974), Kanchana Sita (1977), Thampu (1978), Kummatty (1979), Esthappan (1979), Pokkuveyil (1981), Koodevide (1983), Panchavadi Palam (1984), Chidambaram (1985), Meenamasathile Sooryan (1985), Nakhakshathangal (1986), Arappatta Kettiya Gramathil (1986), Meenamasathile Sooryan (1986), Ek Chadar Maili Si (1986), Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare (1986), Oridathu (1987), Marattam (1988) and Sargam (1992).

With the acclaimed director and cinematographer announcing his next as Olu, movie buffs just can’t wait to know more about the project.
