Seven hilarious memes explain why India hasn’t won a medal at the Olympics yet

Written by : TNM Staff

India is yet to win a medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. The Internet, though, has been kind to the sportspersons, recognising their effort despite the lackadaisical attitude of the Sports Ministry, the poor infrastructure back home and well…just how hard it is to become an athlete in India.

True, that. And it’s not only teachers who’re determined to keep you off the field.

It’s everybody.

Even if you were allowed to play, did you play anything other than cricket?

Translation: Vikram: How many times I begged my Maths teacher not to take the PT period! But she never listened. I'd have played in the Olympics otherwise
Vivek: Dei, Dei, did we play Long Jump, High Jump in the PT period? We just threw the ball high in the sky for catch, or played cricket!

Oh well, there’s always the IPL to show the rest of the world our game.

Translation: Come da, come, come to India da, come to IPL da, CSK da, RCB da

Though not recognized at the Olympics, this is the kind of weight-lifting that would have won us a medal for sure.

Or wait a minute…did we already win some?

Translation: Hey this is our Vaiyapuri!
