The second trailer of the Yash starrer KGF was released recently and fans have been floored by the stark and impactful scenes. From the two trailers released so far, one can gauge that KGF, set in the 1970s, is a violent film about greed and power. The trailer also features Yash in some violent fight sequences. There is plenty of stunts, guns, shooting, explosions and chases in the action shown in the trailer.

KGF, as the title suggests, is a story set in the Kolar Gold Mines, the largest gold mining reserve in the country at the time, about the struggles of the labourers living and working in the mine. The story is set in the late 1970s, when there was high tension between the two great powers of the world – the USA and the USSR. The possibility of a world war breaking out and the rising gold prices form the crux of KGF, we hear.

The first trailer, filmed in retro style, began with a scene depicting the birth of Yash’s character Rocky in 1951, with the voice of Anant Nag narrating the events. It also shows glimpses of Rocky’s childhood in Bombay before giving us a peek into a battle in Kolar’s gold mines.

Touted to be one of the high budget movies in Sandalwood’s, KGF is directed by Prashanth Neel, who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues. Vijay Kiragandur is bankrolling the project under his banner Hombale Films. The technical team comprises music director Ravi Basrur, cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and art director Shivakumar. While Yash and Srinidhi Shetty play the lead pair, the rest of the star cast includes Achyuth Kumar, Nassar, Malavika Avinash, Anant Nag and Vasishta N Simha.

It may be noted here that KGF will be released in five languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam – simultaneously giving it a massive opening. The film will be released in the United States and Canada on December 20 and in India on December 21.
