The low-budget con thriller Sathuranga Vettai took everybody by surprise when it released and rocked the box office in 2014.

Two years later, producer-actor Manobala has announced its sequel and it features Arvind Swami and Trisha in the titular roles. On Friday, Sathuranga Vettai 2 was officially launched and the makers announced that the regular shooting will commence from Monday, November 14.

According to a source from the film’s unit, “Unlike the prequel which focused on multiple sub-plots, the sequel will be narrated in a linear fashion and will focus on just one story. Apparently, the story of Sathuranga Vettai 2 is set against the IT backdrop and will see Trisha and Arvind as the antagonists. Both Trisha and Arvind expressed their excitement to collaborate on this project, which will be directed by Nirmal Kumar and Vinoth, who helmed the first part, will contribute as screenplay and dialogue writer.

With most of the principal shooting slated to take place in and around Chennai, the makers are currently busy finalizing locations.
