Satellite rights of Hindi version of 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ sold for Rs 51cr

The Hindi satellite rights of one of India’s most anticipated upcoming movie ‘Baahubali 2’ have sold for a record-breaking price.

With the shooting of ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ yet to conclude, the film is already earning money for the producers.

According to reports, Baahubali 2’s Hindi version rights have been acquired by Sony TV (MSM Networks) for a whopping 51 crore.

This is the highest ever amount paid for any regional film, to air particulary on Hindi TV channels.

As expected, the second episode of the series is likely to earn almost Rs 200 crore from the theatrical rights of the film in places such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the US.

Meanwhile, director Rajamouli will be wrapping up the shooting of second installment by December and the makers will spend the next few months on post-production.

Baahubali 2 will hit the screens worldwide on April 28, 2017. 

The sequel stars an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnana and Sathyaraj.
