Santhosh Sivan to reunite with Mani Ratnam for sixth time

Written by : TNM

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam, after the disastrous show of Kaatru Veliyidai, has commenced work on his next project. The national award-winning cinematographer-filmmaker has confirmed that he will reunite with Ratnam for the fifth time in this yet-untitled Tamil project.

Talking to Times of India, Sivan said, “Yes, I will be working with Mani Ratnam for his next project. I have been working on Mahesh Babu's film Spyder.” The duo had previously worked together in films such as Thalapathi, Raavanan, Roja, Iruvar and Dil Se.

With the pre-production work already underway, one wonders which actor Ratnam would team up with this time. He worked with Karthi in Kaatru Veliyidai and the result didn’t work in his favour. Most critics and audiences felt he made a wrong choice with Karthi, as he couldn’t do justice to the character. Kaatru Veliyidai also featured Aditi Rao Hydari, and it is believed that she might once again team up with Ratnam. Apparently, she is already on board but is yet to sign on the dotted line. It will be really interesting to see how Ratnam will use Aditi, who stunned everybody with her flawless performance in Kaatru Veliyidai.

There were rumours that Ratnam could collaborate with Ram Charan for a bilingual project. However, sources close to the Dhruva actor have confirmed that the plan has been dropped and Charan has moved on with his own commitments.
