Samantha's ‘Oh! Baby’ hits million-dollar mark in US box-office

Samantha Akkineni’s latest release Oh! Baby has met with immensely positive reviews from critics and audiences everywhere. The movie recently hit the million dollar mark at the American box-office. Several took to social media platforms to wish the actor and team on their achievement.

“Hard work + dreams + dedication #teamohbaby ... Thank you for making big dreams possible,” tweeted Samantha on the social media platform.

“Congratulation my baby and to the team...so happy for you guys..to many more!!” tweeted actor Naga Chaitanya, who is also Samantha's husband.

“#OhBaby Super Star @Samanthaprabhu2 u did it. Congratulations to the entire team. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to release in USA,” stated one of the film’s distributors in the US.

Oh! Baby starring Samantha in the lead role was released on July 5. The film revolves around a 70-year-old woman (played by veteran actor Lakshmi) who finds herself in the body of a 24-year-old woman and the antics which follow. The trailer had released on YouTube in mid-June and had hit two million views within 2 days of its release.

The film is the fourth Tollywood movie to reach the one million dollar mark in the US after F2, Jersey, and Maharshi.

The movie was directed by BV Nandini Reddy and produced by Sunita Tati under the banner of People's Media Factory and Suresh Productions. Mickey J. Meyer composed the music for the film. It is a remake of the Korean film Miss Granny. In addition to Samantha, the cast also includes Urvashi, Snigdha, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh and Naga Shaurya in important roles. Adivi Sesh plays a cameo role.
