Sai Pallavi opts out of Vikram’s next

Written by : TNM

Looks like Sai Pallavi’s Tamil debut is jinxed. After opting out of a dream debut with Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, the Premam fame actor has apparently walked out of director Vijay Chander’s next with Chiyaan Vikram, and the reason remains a mystery. However, a source close to the actor revealed that since the project didn’t take off on time, she was left with no option other than letting herself out as she couldn’t manage dates. An official confirmation is still awaited from the makers. Rumour has it that Tamannaah is mostly like to replace her.

“She had signed the film because she was told the project will commence from January. However, Vikram’s sudden change of plans to go ahead and finish Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram had put her in a tight spot. She didn’t have a choice she her dates with other projects were clashing. Hence, she decided to walk out. She has already been paid an advance of Rs. 15 lakh which she intends to return,” the source said.

Tipped to be a commercial actioner, the project marks the first time collaboration of Vijay and Vikram, and the project will be bankrolled by Silverline Film Factory. Sai Pallavi, meanwhile, is looking forward to finally make her Tamil debut opposite Madhavan in the yet to be titled Tamil remake of Malayalam hit, Charlie.
